Here’s a little known fact about this website for all you lovely humans.
Originally I was going to call this site “Lost Property” because not only did it appropriately represent how my thoughts felt for a long period of time, I tend to be a bit disorganised in terms of my belongings, so the Lost Property was a place I frequently visited.
Ever since I was a kid (and my mum will testify to this) I’ve always had a tendency to misplace my belongings. On my first week of school I managed to lose most of my lunchboxes, to my family’s dismay and entertainment. I find this story funny not only because of it’s inherently humorous content, but because I cannot for the life of me actually recall those events happening, making my memory of the anecdote in of itself “lost property”
Hell, the fact I can’t even remember whether or not I’ve talked about my memory on this blog before is suiting in the fashion that this blog could’ve been lost property on it’s own.
I’m not sure whether it’s short or long memory loss or if my mind is as misplaced as I feel, but I tend to forget just about everything that’s going on and rely entirely on other people’s memory of events just to get on with my life.
This has led my mind into believing a series of ridiculous theories, such as:
- I’m actually living in a weird test-based simulation where my memories are falsely made and then inputted into me and then I get put into the scenario I’m existing in now where I can only trust the events of the past one second and need to find a way out of this infinite simulation before it ends and my overseers are satisfied with the results (great book idea. working on it.)
- I was picked out for a homebrand version of The Truman Show where they utilised my intense memory loss as a way to cover up plot inconveniences so that they can lazily continue the show without the main character questioning anything.
- I’m a crazy person, nothing around me is real and I’m doomed to live out my days continuously falling prey to the predator that is my dark thoughts
Intense stuff, I know.
